Orange plans to introduce its own brand tablet for the UK market. The mobile operator has partnered with Huawei, the Chinese manufacturing firm, to produce Tahiti, a 7 inch super stylish and sleek Android based tablet available for £69.99 on a plan of £25 every month.
The device, which looks like a rebranded version of Huawei Mediapad device, runs on Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system and is powered by dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor. Available in slate silver and black finish, it comes with a multi-touch LCD screen.
It also has a 5 mega pixel camera along with WiFi, A-GPS, 3G+ connectivity and Bluetooth facilities. As the device is very light at just 390 grams, it provides great portability. The high powered procession along with the Honeycomb OS surfing Internet as well as watching movies on the device while on the move is easy and effortless, reports Tracy and Matt.
The device is available for £25 a month for a 24 month data plan and is has 1GB anytime data offer, 1GB "quite time" data and also unlimited accessibility to WiFi hotspots every month. This is very exciting for Orange subscribers.
