The latest build comes from CyanogenMod 9 and with it a number of fixes have been included. This time around, the Kindle Fire has working audio. Prior to the update there were a number of problems with it. On the downside, video playback is still a little sketchy.

To get the new update working, you can follow the instructions over on XDA developers (linked above). Installation is relatively simple if you follow step by step. Make sure that you follow all warnings.

Also, Liliputing points out that gApps will need a reinstall due to the update wiping the old version out.
